Website Analytics Are Not Optional For Your Business

There are plenty of things in business which are nice to have but not essential. However, you will often find that people will place elements into the nice to have category for reasons that don’t relate to their importance. If certain aspects are too expensive, some people will shy away from them in order to save money. There is also the fact that some people will decide to avoid certain strategies or elements because they do not fully understand them how to use them. In this regard, there will be plenty of online businesses who are aware of how important carrying out website analytics is but because they are not sure how to do it, they won’t do it.

This is not acceptable. If you are keen to gain success, there are some things that you cannot skip or take shortcuts with and carrying out proper reviews and analysis is right up there with respect to importance. This isn’t to say that you can’t have success without analytics but if you are looking for sustained success, it is best to know what works for you and what doesn’t. Everyone can fluke their way to success on occasions but businesses that work out what works for them have a greatly improved chance of success on a regular basis.

Do you want to be a business that flukes success or do you want to be a business that has an improved chance of consistent success?

If it’s the former, you can stop reading. If it’s the later, you need to carry out website analysis, as this will tell you what is working and will provide you with information you can use to repair the elements that aren’t working.

Even the most basic website analysis offers:

  • The number of visitors to your site
  • Where visitors came from (search engines, inbound links etc)
  • The amount of new visitors on site
  • What keywords are being used
  • How your site is ranking for keywords

Of course, while analysing your website is important, you don’t operate in a vacuum so you want to check out your competitors and what they are doing. This may provide you keywords that are right for your business but if not, you should look into carrying pout keyword and search research as well. If you are trying to rank for a keyword and no one is searching for it, you are wasting your time and limiting the likelihood of success. This is why you need to carry out this research, or at least turn to an experienced agency, to carry out this research for you.

Get analytical support if you need to

Working with an experience firm, such as Liberator Design, will provide you with the perfect platform for updating your site and understanding the path to success. You will receive recommendations that you can make on your webpages, you will receive analysis of your competition and what they are doing. In business, knowing what your rivals are doing and aiming above them is often the key to success.

You will also receive keyword analysis, a review of where your rivals are receiving links from, a run-down of errors on site and event statistics of your social media presents.

These statistics and figures are of benefit and they are nice to know but they provide the platform for you to make changes and grow your business. If you are serous about improving your business and becoming more relevant to customers, you need to work hard on understanding the things you do well and the things you don’t do well.

In the long run, it is always best to develop this knowledge for yourself. However, not many businesses can afford the time or expenditure in developing this sort of knowledge, which is where external support can make all the difference. Any business looking to understand the statistics that point to success or failure in business needs to carry out strong analysis of their site and what goes on around them.

Why not give us a call and we can discuss your analytics?

We’re ALWAYS keen to talk about new projects and ideas

or via social media if you’d prefer…
